Fish Cipro 500mg tablets are commonly used by aquarium owners to help manage bacterial-related conditions in fish. This product is often selected for supporting fish health and maintaining a stable aquarium environment.
Fish Cipro is frequently used in the care of fish experiencing symptoms associated with:
- Columnaris (saddleback disease)
- Fin rot
- Skin ulcers
- Black patch necrosis
- Systemic bacterial infections
Maintaining proper water quality and early treatment are essential when managing aquarium conditions. Many fish owners combine targeted treatments with routine tank maintenance for best results.
Use for: Columnaris infections (Fin Rot, Saddleback, and Black Patch Necrosis Syndromes), Freshwater and Saltwater Furuncolosis (skin ulcers, systemic disease). Because Ciprofloxacin for fish inhibits unique target enzymes needed for bacterial replication and DNA repair, it may be effective against bacteria unresponsive to other medications.
Directions: Dissolve one fish Ciprofloxacin tablet (500mg) per 2 gallons of water in a small amount of water prior to adding to a hospital tank. Immerse for one hour. Repeat every day for 5-7 days with daily water changes after each treatment. Ciproflaxin chelates divalent cations water hardness (increase dose for marine fish) and high divalent cations in diet. Its activity decreases with high pH (>6.9). It can be bacteriostatic or bactericidal depending on the effective concentration at the target site.
